When Your IBC Has Had Enough of Being Boring

01 April 2026CPP® Technical Guidance
Humorous over-engineered IBC adaptor concept with novelty accessories

IBC tanks are practical, square and generally not hired for their personality. So, for one deliberately ridiculous exercise, we imagined what would happen if an IBC outlet assembly was designed by someone who had completely forgotten the words “keep it simple”.

Meet the most over-qualified IBC adaptor ever imagined

The concept included a concerned-looking pressure gauge, unnecessary indicators, novelty accessories and enough extra hardware to make a straightforward liquid-transfer job look like a control room.

  • A gauge that appears to be judging the operator
  • Multiple indicators that nobody asked for
  • A novelty “supervisor” with no recognised qualification
  • An outlet arrangement designed mainly to make people ask questions

It is not a real CPP® product

The assembly was created for fun. It is not a product specification, pressure-control system or recommended way to modify an IBC.

Real IBC systems work better when they are simpler

For actual applications, identify the outlet correctly, choose the right adaptor, use materials compatible with the liquid and keep the number of unnecessary joints to a minimum. If you need several functions at one outlet, CPP® IBC-CONNECT™ components can provide a modular route without resorting to a rubber chicken or garden gnome.
