150 mm (6″) IBC Fill Cap with Twin Automatic Pressure & Vacuum Vents

Part No: IBC150P20BDV027

CPP® 150 mm (6″) IBC fill cap with two automatic pressure and vacuum relief vents and a removable centre blanking plug. The twin-vent arrangement provides greater air-in and air-out capacity than the single HMVMN20MM027 low-flow vent.

Specification

  • IBC lid size: 150 mm / 6″
  • IBC lid thread: S160X7 female buttress thread
  • Lid material: glass-filled polypropylene
  • Seal material: PP-based elastomer
  • Vent arrangement: 2 automatic pressure & vacuum relief vents
  • Vacuum opening pressure: just under 1 psi
  • Pressure opening pressure: approximately 2 psi
  • Combined airflow: approximately 200 L/min total across both vents
  • Centre connection: G2 × 11.5
  • Centre closure: removable blanking plug

How the twin vents work

During gravity discharge, replacement air must enter the IBC as liquid leaves. The two vacuum-relief valves admit air to help reduce negative pressure and the risk of the IBC walls being pulled inward.

If internal pressure rises, the pressure-relief function opens to allow excess pressure to escape through the same vent system.

Important flow guidance

The two vents provide approximately 200 L/min combined air-in or air-out flow. This is greater than the current single low-flow vent, but the liquid discharge rate must still remain within the available venting capacity.

Do not assume the lid can support the full unrestricted flow of an open IBC outlet valve. If the IBC walls begin to draw inward during discharge, stop the liquid flow and allow the container to recover before continuing.

IBC pressure & vacuum caution

Many newer IBC bottles use relatively thin wall sections and can deform quickly under negative pressure. Positive pressure must also be controlled carefully.

IBC leak testing may be carried out at relatively low pressure, often around 2–3 psi, but this is not a working-pressure rating. Standard IBC bottles can visibly bulge or move at low internal pressure and must not be treated as pressure vessels.

Application

This lid is intended for controlled venting of compatible IBCs during storage and gravity discharge. Always confirm the IBC top thread, required discharge rate and container manufacturer's operating limits before use.

Next-generation CPP® IBC vent development

CPP® is developing a new high-flow pressure and vacuum relief vent for IBC applications. Testing is being carried out across a range of new and used IBC designs to measure air-in flow, pressure-relief performance and container deformation. Initial results indicate substantially greater vacuum- and pressure-relief capacity than the current venting products. Production release is targeted for the end of 2026, with final verified performance data to be published when testing is complete.
